Seems it would be a few hours work at least.

So in the wonderful tradition of lazy blighters everywhere, I remembered something I’d tried last year, a simple blog interface that allows for twitter-like posting.

Matches @ The Rugby Man is firing up the engines for another go around!

.. Since my last post.

A great deal of sadness has passed through the Australian Rugby community with the death of Shawn Mackay.

The end of the Super 14 season is drawing close, and there is no longer hope of some teams making the finals.

And one of my “Match Report” videos was pulled from YouTube (profile here) for “Copyright Infringement”, care of IMG Media. Fun stuff. Wind. Sails. Taken. I’ve got some ideas for a different kind of match report, but we’ll see.

Am watching the Brumbies/Bulls match tomorrow night at a friend’s place. Hoping it’ll be a right royal smash up derby.

It’s going in the next Episode, but thought I’d spring this text-wise upon you now.

There’s been a fair amount of news here (separate links) in Aus over the weekend with regards to alcohol misdemeaners by sporting profiles.

Instituting a ban won’t fix anything. That completely misses the point.

You want to start solving the problem? Institute real penalties. Dock Pay. Take players out of the weekend match. STOP THEM PLAYING.

Show some gumption and make them penalised in the best way available. These guys love, or most of them do, to play footy. Stop them playing.

The problem is, and here is the rub, that the Management DON’T REALLY SEE IT AS WRONG.

So until the Coaches, Club Management, State and National bureaucracy actually think it’s a bad thing, this will continue un-abated. Yup, I’m calling out whatever moral code you think is holding together our society.

I’m certain there are Coaches who do work hard at putting procedures into place, and who do have a problem with this. It’s not everyone, but the statement still holds.

It’s time to start thinking about the future. Meshing together the very fabric of who we are as a people. Sporting stars are a big part of that in our world today.

Time to think a little in the opposite way.

G’day!

Rugby is an awesome game. Not just “an”, but in my self-important opinion, “the”.

So what can a bloke do?

Well, he can get inspired by Will Carling and in a night record the first video, install and setup WordPress, start spreading the news and write this post!

There is such possibility for promoting rugby in our world today. Blogs. Videos. Podcasts. Yet there seems to be a lethargy, a non-interest for the main part.

Let’s get serious about this most excellent of sports.

Saddle up!
